  • Successful Marketing Trends for 2021 by Ben Givon

If you are a business owner who intends to stay relevant and competitive in today’s fast-moving online world, you must adapt your marketing trends to meet the rapidly changing consumer interests.

Brian Solis, a digital anthropologist, describes it as Digital Darwinism:

“Each business is a victim of Digital Darwinism, the evolution of consumer behavior when society and technology evolve faster than the ability to exploit it. Digital Darwinism does not discriminate. Every business is threatened.”

Here are some new marketing trends for 2021 that can help your business:

    Conversational Marketing

When prospective clients want an answer to a question, they want it immediately. Be that through an FAQ section on your site or a chatbot to assist your clients in real-time. Providing 24-hour immediate response allows the brand to connect with the customer in a flash.  What’s even better, they can do it on their terms – on their device, anywhere, at any time they want.

    Video Marketing

Clever and concise videos are perhaps one of the most important ways to promote your product or service today. Videos are easily shareable across all social media platforms and yield high results. In a world where everyone is staring at their smartphone screens all day, videos perform way better than text, which is often too small to read on a smartphone. Video content is simply more compelling and has higher chances of driving organic search results.

    Immersive Technologies Marketing

While we all know what (virtual reality) VR is, we may not all be familiar with AR, which stands for augmented reality.  AR is far more feasible in terms of digital marketing.  Immersive technologies allow you to see a visualization of how something would look like without you having to actually go out and purchase it. An excellent example of something like that is IKEA’s app IKEA Place as well as ModiFace, which has been acquired by L’Oreal.

    Voice Search Marketing

The increased use of voice search should prompt you to reconsider your digital marketing strategies. It is projected by the end of 2022, 55% of all American homes will use smart virtual assistant gadgets. Voice search is a convenient tool, and you should modify your content to be suitable for voice searches. Plenty of companies have already adopted the strategy, including Nestle. They have a service that gives voice instructions as you cook.

    Content Marketing

Content Marketing has been and will continue to be one of the main marketing drivers, specifically SEO. Googles 2019 update introduced its Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) system.  This system allows Google to recognize and understand the natural language that people use in their searches.

According to John Muller from Google, “rather than chase the latest SEO trends, it’s more important to ensure a site has fast speeds, useful links, and well-written content.”
